We are expanding our engineering department and have opportunities for embedded systems engineers. These positions require well rounded, disciplined engineers who work well in a team environment. We seek creative thinkers with strong leadership qualities who are excited about working on cutting edge, renewable energy technology.
We are seeking an Embedded Systems Engineer to join the Software and Controls Engineering team to focus on the development of our advanced power electronics control platform. The available positions range from entry level to 10 plus years of experience.
Responsibilities:Position responsibilities may include any combination of the following based on candidates qualifications and experience:
- Develop and support embedded software in power converter products used for wind turbines, advanced motor drives, energy storage devices, and other applications of our unique power converter technology.
- Work in multiple languages, including:
- C/C++
- VHDL
- UML
- Java
- Visual Basic
- Using multiple platforms, including:
- SHARC digital signal processor
- ColdFire processor running RTOS
- FPGA
- Windows
- Involved with board design and testing.
- Develop tools and processes to streamline our manufacturing and improve our reliability.
- Specify and select equipment, systems, components and materials
- Write technical reports
- Provide commissioning and testing assistance
- Manage technical projects to scope and budget
- Lead a team of engineers and technicians on a project
- Project planning
Experience in any of the above areas of responsibilities considered a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience with software engineering best practices for quality assurance, including certification.
- Experience with multiple languages & platforms listed above.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Discipline to work within a quality system, and the ability to work well within a team environment.
- Ability to plan and execute technical design projects.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with at least one language & one platform listed above.
